I am trying to pass Pusle code modulated(PCM)data across the ethernet, reconstruct it on the other end. Can this be done via an ethernet/485 convertor?

Depends on how the PCM data is formatted. The Enet-485 outputs data in a UART frame (start, data, optional parity, stop) using RS-485 transceivers.
