Error -1073807202

Hi,

i'm having the exact same problem as the person who made the first post here.  however, i was wondering how to access the "MAX" i'm thinking that the labview  isn't recogizing the serial port card that  was just installed into my linux system.  I'm hoping to try something and test with the 'MAX', except i don't know how to access that.  please help. thanks

Hi Mi,

Welcome to the NI Forums!  MAX is an acronym for Measurement & Automation Explorer, which is not installed in Linux.  Here is a KnowledgeBase about VISA Error -1073807202.  I recommend reinstalling NI-VISA, and select LabVIEW support during the installation process.  Also, there are other discussion forum posts related to this error that may help you.

How could it not be installed?  I can find the VISA VI under the functions palette-Instrument I/O.  You mentioned that there is no MAX for linux, but is there something similar that i can use to see if there is any communication between labview and my serial port that is installed? thanks

Hi Mi,

Even if NI-VISA is installed, there may be a problem with the installation that is causing this error.  There are a couple of tools in Linux you may use to check the communication. To access the Test Panel, go to a console and execute NIvisaic.  To access the Configuration Utility, go to a console and execute visaconf.  Also, which distribution of Linux are you using?  NI-VISA only supports certain distributions of Linux.  Also, which version of NI-KAL are you using?  Also, here is another KnowledgeBase about Troubleshooting Serial Communication in Linux.
