MAX Crashes continously

I've installed (and re-installed) MAX in order to communicate with hardware via a GPIB-USB-HS cable. The software starts up okay and recognizes the connected hardware. Everything seems to be okay, but when the menu (File, Tools, etc) is selected, an error results. The software crashes and I'm faced with a Windows "Report Error" window.

The driver I have installed is: NI-488.2 2.5 (the file name is ni488222.exe).

I have the latest version of Labview (Trial).
Also, when I was reinstalling MAX, I made sure to turn off the firewall and any running programs. I'm not sure if I did this the first time I installed MAX. I did not reinstall LabView when I was reinstalling MAX.

I've attached two pictures showing the "before/after" of the situation.

My hardware is Agilent OSA (86140 series) with a port at the back that says "HP-IB". The cord I'm using is NI GPIB-USB-HS. My OS is Windows XP Pro Service Pack 2 and the PC is Pentium 4.

Hey Alex!
How are you doing?  Can you verify that you have the latest drivers?  You mentioned that the file name you are using is ni488222.exe.  That driver is version 2.2; however, the latest version is ni488225.  I recommend you try out the 488225 drivers from the link below!

If you are using the correct drivers Alex, please verify so that we can explore other possible solutions!  Thank you Alex
Best Regards,
