PXIe Chassis-1075 (NI-MAX configurations have been changed without any known reason)

Dear all,

I am working on NI-measurement system. it is included two chassis, one for receivers (VSA) and the other one for generators (VSG). I am using PCI  cable to connect the two chassis. Everything was working fine and there was no error. suddenly I am getting the error  attached in the picture 1. while I am trying to find out the problem I found that  the configuration of the NI-MAX has been changed in a very weird way and you can see that in the attached picture 2. there was two chassis as seen in pic 1 and all the connected device are green while as you see in picture 3 almost the connected device are grayed. knowing that there is no any sign for faulty device.

Is there any of could help me with this, I will be really appreciated.

Thank you very much

Try to ensure that the PXI chassis is powered up a few seconds before the PC that controls the system.  If the PC powers up its PCI bus prior to the PXI chassis completing its initialization, odd things will happen in the PXI readout.

Actually I did all of these stuff but no way, the measurement system yesterday worked for once and then got the same problem. Today as well it works for once and then stoped working. I can't even guess where is the problem. it happend ages ago and then solved itself, this week we got it but it seems will keep for to long.

I wish if there is any one from the NI Technical support could help us with this matter.

Some updates it might help for suggestion:

  1. I realized that on the second Chassis (Receivers' chassis) is not read the (speed of the fan, the voltage, the temperature )  correctly , I mean when I increased or decrease it, the speed of the Fan for example , it is not updated on the screen while for the other chassis (Generators' chassis) it works correctly .
  2. The  other one which I got, that the second Chassis (Receivers' chassis) turn off suddenly and the indicator becomes red as shown in the attached picture.

I need your suggestion about what it could be the problem, Is it the Chassis? Is it the receivers? Is it the MXI ?

Thank you in advance for your attention

best regards

The red LED on the MXI card means that power is bad somewhere, but it doesn't tell you whether it's the chassis or the card.  However, since the chassis shut down it's probably the chassis.

You may be able to get more insight by swapping the chassis and seeing if the problems follow the chassis.

You'll probably get more responses in the PXI discussion board.
