Hii All,

Now I am connecting the Agilent 34401A, with RS-232 -USB cable, In NI-MAX, I am getting new port option now as COM7. . When I am during ID query or when I am running read measurement file of Agilent 34401a I am getting some error. I am attaching both errors of ID query and .vi running error . Can any one help whats the problem in it. I have double checked Baud rate, Parity and Data Bits and put that same in NI - MAX, 344401A, and in .vi file which I am running.

Are you sure the device will respond to that query?

Are you sure you have the right cable?  Serial port settings such as baud rate, data bits, stop bits?

Does the device need a button pressed on it to put it into "remote mode" instead of "local mode"?

Yes, the device is responding the query but with a error as shown in above attachment. Yes all data is fine as well as remote mode as well.

Actually the instrument is NOT responding to the query.  The error is LabVIEW telling you that it timed out before a response was received.

One thing you didn't mention - are you sure that the instrument is on COM7???  I see a COM6 in your picture as well.

Yes I am sure its  Profilic USB to serial COMM port. and COM6 is  Intel(R) Active Management Technology - SOL

any more suggestions are welcome to solve this

Thanks and Regards

The image that you sent earlier showing the timeout was on COM7 not COM6.  Does the instrument respond when you do an ID query on COM6?
