Can I always edit a LabVIEW program even if the device drivers are not installed on the machine being used for editing?

Solved!

Hi,

If I do not install the device drivers with LabVIEW can I still edit any given LabVIEW program created with that version?  Or, do I need to install the device drivers if I am editing a program which uses those drivers?

Thanks,

Dave

Yes you can always edit your LabVIEW code, however you cannot test/debug them since they most likely have missing subVIs, using conditional disable structure you can overcome these issues.

Thanks.

I'm using LabVIEW 7.1 and when trying to open a program I receive the following prompt:

The program can't start because nidaq32.dll is missing from your computer.  Try reinstalling the program to fix this problem.

While I was waiting for an answer to my question I was trying to reinstall- that didn't fix it.

I'm using LV7.1 because when I try opening this program with LV8 or higher I receive many errors.  I haven't used LV7.1 for quite some time and only have disc 1 with me.

Any ideas on how I can get this DLL installed?

Thanks,

Dave

What did you reinstall? The dll is part of the traditional DAQ driver.

Dennis,

I had tried reinstalling LV7.1.  Now I'm installing the Legacy DAQ drivers.
