Find Examples -> Unable to open resource files.

Problem:

"Unable to open resource files" appears when trying to use LabVIEW's "Find Examples..." function (without displaying the examples).

This message also appears when attempting to browse an *.llb in windows explorer (Windows XP).

Seems it's related to the runtime engine, although I couldn't fix it with some basic debugging..
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling LV, same issue. Any input is appreciated.

LabVIEW 7.1, LV 7.1 Realtime module, and runtime engines for 7.1 and 6.0(?) are installed.

Darren,

The behavior you described is very unusual and I cannot find any record of anyone else experiencing the same thing. Something is clearly corrupted and I'm curious if it could be your CD. Has the example finder or .llb exploring ever worked in this copy of LabVIEW or have you always received this error? You might want to try uninstalling and reinstalling from your hard drive (copying the CD to your hard drive and running setup from there).

Yes, it worked before. This behavior began after installing the Real-time module onto a PC that already had a working version of LV 7.1.

Darren,

Try another uninstall/reinstall, but be sure to uninstall the realtime module first (if installed) before uninstalling LabVIEW. If that does not take care of the problem, then this is definitely a corruption issue, so please send in an email support request at this link. I'll pick up the email on this side and we can continue to troubleshoot through email.

Done..

Removed _all_ NI software (Real-time module first), then reinstalled. Painful, but effective ;).
