How to end any application from task manager?

We use excel in our project but when we close the project excel is still remained open in task manager creating a problem when project is opened and closed several times.

What is the advantage of all those CLFN calls over the System Exec method?

This helps in closing programs which is running in the Processes. So i suggested the above.

Doesn't taskkill do the same thing? I'm not saying your solution is wrong - I'm just trying to understand what the advantage is of having the overhead of all those CLFN calls over a single System Exec that calls taskkill, an approach that has been suggested many, many times in this forum (and is what Even shows).
