Marking VIs as Top-Level VIs in an LLB

I have enjoyed using LabVIEW, but I have some how accidently changed LabVIEW.  According NI, if you open a .llb while using Windows Explorer, you can view and manage the contents of that .llb.  However, now if I open any .llb no matter where it is the LabVIEW application auto launchs every top-level .vi in the .llb.  *See hyperlink below.* and *See note below*

Does anyone know how reset LabVIEW back into the correct default for Windows 2000/XP.

note:

Windows 2000/XP You also can double-click a .llb file in Windows Explorer to display the contents of the LLB so you can mark a VI in the LLB as a top-level VI. Right-click a VI in the LLB and select Top Level from the shortcut menu to mark the VI as top level.

It is located in the settings of LV.

Go to: Tools>>Options>>Environment and set "Enable Windows Explorer for LLB files (takes effect on computer restart)".

Thanks for the help!  But "BEEN THERE AND DONE THAT" several times.  The value in options>environment field has no effect on the behavior of LabVIEW, no matter how many I reset, reboot and set, reboot.

Do you have any other suggestions?

How about removing the toplevel designation from most VIs using the llb manager.

More specifically, I would strongly advise against using LLBs for large projects with many toplevel VIs, because they can become corrupt.

You can use the llb manager to convert llb to folders for example.

What is your LabVIEW version?

It is happening for ALL *.llb, including the pre-installed *.llb's that came with LabVIEW.  Also, I can not cut and paste .vi's from any *.llb using Windows Explorer.

Do you know if I can just reinstall LabVIEW or should I remove then reinstall?

LabVIEW version 8.2 WIndows XP.  Also, I did an upgrade to Version 8.2.1 after this problem appeared, but it had no effect.

I can not change much.  I user base likes the current look and feel.

That should have said "My current user base likes the current look and feel."

LabVIEW version 8.2 and in an attempt to restore form and function I installed Version 8.2.1.  It was of no luck.

The following article discusses how to enable Windows Explorer for LLB.  Since it seems that the option is there in your version of LabVIEW but appears to have no effect, I would recommend trying to repair your installation, as per the instructions in the LabVIEW 8.x section.
