NI DAQ compatibility with ARM64

Hi! I have been trying to download LabView for a university project. I managed to download just LabView with every extra unticked, and now trying to download individual packages. I downloaded NI-Serial with no issues - again with every extra unticked.

Packages think I need:

NI-DAQmx - use with NI USB-6001

NI-IMAQ - camera

NI-IMAQdx - USB webcam

NI-VISA - use with TCP board

My processor:

64-bit operating system, ARM-based processor, Snapdragon(R) X Plus - X1P42100 - Qualcomm(R) Oryon(TM) CPU (3.24 GHz)

I received this same error for all of the packages. The project is pretty flexible so I am open to suggestions on workarounds or other recommendations.

Thank you for reading, any help hugely appreciated.

The error message:

Recommendation: use a different computer with a x64 CPU (Intel, AMD)…

The error message in the image is quite clear on that issue!

Hi GerdW, I understand, however, this is the PC that is available to me!

Then you (or someone else) missed to check the requirements for the project before you (or someone else) decided on the hardware/software to be used.

In your case: the laptop does not fit to the project requirements!

When you need LabVIEW with (lots of NI) hardware support than you should use a computer with a x64 CPU…

It's even more limited than just the CPU. NI DAQ hardware, do not support any of the USB based DAQ hardware on any system but Windows. That includes your USB-6008. And no, Windows RT or any of the newer Windows for ARM are not a solution, it has to be Windows on an x64 CPU.

Hello everyone,

I am trying to install LabVIEW on my computer, but the installation cannot be completed. It seems that the installer or the software is not compatible with my ARM-based processor.

Here are my system details:

  • Processor: Snapdragon(R) X Plus – X1P42100 – Qualcomm(R) Oryon(TM) CPU @ 3.24 GHz (ARM-based)

  • Operating System: Windows 11 Home 64-bit, ARM-based

  • LabVIEW version attempted: LabVIEW 2025 Q3 32-bit

  • Installation package: LabVIEW, NI-DAQmx, NI-VISA, NI-Serial, NI-488.2.

Troubleshooting already attempted:

  • Tried running the installer both as administrator and in compatibility mode (no success)

  • Verified system requirements and found no explicit mention of ARM support

  • Checked NI Package Manager version (if applicable)

Error details:
There is no specific error number — the installation stops or fails without completing.

Could someone from NI confirm whether LabVIEW currently supports ARM-based processors on Windows 11?
If not, is there a workaround (e.g., using an x64 emulation layer or a specific build)?

Thank you very much for your help!

Hi tedde,

in case you're not a SPAM guy you get the same answer as spongebob when using the very same laptop type…

Best regards,
GerdW
