Can you please open NIMax.exe in dependency walker again? Then, start profiling (Profile->Start Profiling) and stop (Profile->Stop Profiling) as soon as you see this error. Save the dependency walker image (File->Save As..) and post it here please.
One thing I might suggest is downloading the Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package, and running it to see if you can repair the msvcr90.dll files.
In addition, when MAX crashes it generates a log and a dump file. Take a look at Step 6 of this KB, and please attach the .dmp and .txt files as well. This should hopefully give us a better idea of what's going on. Thanks!
