Start a user group in Tennessee

I would like to start a user group in tennessee. I like to know if anyone is interested in joining or has any onformation about how to really get one started.

Do you have a local NI rep?  The user group in Phoenix is run by the local NI rep.  Maybe he can help to get one together.  The NI sales team usually knows who uses Labview in a certain area.  Of course, in the land of the Vols, there may not be enough intelligent people to start one... (sorry Joe, could not resist that one.  Your turn...)

Tennessee's a big place.  I would be interested in a User Group in Tennessee, but not if it's in Knoxville.

By the way, there is at least one academic institution in Tennessee.  It's called Vanderbilt.

Well if i get one started it sure will not be in nashville, and how can you even consider vandebilt an institution of higher learning. Oh I know it's for people who actually want to go to the third grade.

Wait a minute!  The last time I checked FOOTBALL was NOT a real academic major.  Oh, I forgot! We're talking about UT where FOOTBALL is EVERYTHING!  (Well, at least there is a classy womens basketball team)!

Back on the topic, I suspect that it will be hard to find a location which will ultimately be suitable for everyone.  It's a long way from Memphis to Nashville.  It will probably be more reasonable to focus on developing the group in a smaller area (Knoxville in your case) and then welcoming visitors from other parts of the state.  One way to guage the interest in Knoxville might be to go to the NI seminar on Thursday and discuss it with those who come.  Unfortunately I'm unable to make the one in Nashville today to guage the interest here.  Perhaps, though, if we could get two groups going there could be some joint functions.

Yeah I have looked at that link and downloaded some files,I was really just wonderingif anyone on the forum was from tennessee and would be willing to help start a user group.
