This isn't a standard feature of USB cameras.  Turning the LED on/off may be part of the USB camera's driver when you open the property page for the video or image settings using the LV VI IMAQ USB Property Page.vi

Hope this helps,

Brad

Brad meant that LED control was a manufacturer specific feature. There is most probably no generic Windows sanctioned API to control that and the ImaqDirectShow.dll is not meant to interface to manufacturer specific API extensions at all. That path is a can of worms nobody wants to go in a generic API driver.

Hello Brad,

In an earlier post, when you said that "The USB driver is intended for hobbyists and educational purposes", does this assume that these hobbyiests and educators have NI Vision installed as well?  Or is there a free USB driver for video that we can use to experiement with webcams and Labview?  I have Labview Developer Suite 8.5.

Hi,

I'm trying to find a way to get 640x480 images out of my webcam. Yes it is capable, and I have tried with USB IMAQ and works great, BUT with this dialog box of video settings always when I initialize webcam.

Anyone knows how to bypass this dialog box?

I also trying with Peter Webcam 1.4 , where it is possible to send width and height, but if you look at source code, not assign of this variables to camera, so don't work.

Thanks

Nuno Costa
