USB DRIVER FOR IMAQ

Yes I can use it directly from Windows Control Pannel, moreover the acquisiton software is not from the vendor but is a free downloadable software (Debut). Can I give you some other information that could be usefull to find a solution?
Thanks.

I'm not sure what was different when this camera worked, but unfortunately I don't think there's much we can do. The NI-IMAQ for USB driver simply calls into the camera driver. I have seen some specialized cameras that don't work well with the NI-IMAQ for USB driver, but work fine with freeware, and unfortunately we aren't planning on investing development into this free driver, because it is provided as is. It works with lots of cameras, but when there is a camera it doesn't work with, it is usually related to the camera's driver doing something out of the oridinary and some freeware handles this better than NI-IMAQ for USB. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you at this time.

Hi Brad,

do you have any news about installer that works also with LV8.5?

And what about compatibility with Ni Vision 8.5?

thanks

Steve

I just tried the NI-IMAQ for USB 1.2 installer on a clean machine with LV 7.1 and LV 8.5 and Vision Development Module and didn't have any problems.

Make sure you're using the installer from here:

http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/5030

and make sure you have Vision Development Module installed for that LabVIEW (you should see a picture of a camera on the splashscreen when launching LabVIEW). If you have Vision Development Module installed, this installer should install support for LV 7.1 through LV 8.5 without problems.

Hope this helps,

Brad

Thankyou Brad,
and with version of Vision Development module did you tried it?
I'm now using Vision development module 8.2 but i stopped my upgrading to Vision 8.5 afraid by incompatibilty written on the page you linked.
Also i have another problem: LCD 7 Segm routines are no more present in the new Vision development module, and i used them in my programs.
Do you have any ideas in how to continue to use them?

Thankyou again

Stev

PincoG,

I have Vision Development Module version 8.5, LV 8.5 and IMAQ for USB version 1.2. Everything works fine for me. What incompatibility are you referring to?

Ok Michelle: now i know from you that everything it's ok.

But if you read into the page linked from Brad:

Make sure you're using the installer from here:

http://zone.ni.com/devzone/cda/epd/p/id/5030

at the and of the page you can read notice from users like these:

Same version problem
This installer does not even work on my system with LabVIEW 8.2 AND LabVIEW 7.1 installed!!!
- 28-feb-2008

Same version problem
I used the process submitted by MBFlower and I still cannot get past the "must have Labview 7.1 or higher" step. I have Labview 8.5 with the July 2007 Vision installed. Any ideas?

I'm happy to know that now everything it's ok.

Thankyou again

Steve

PincoG,

You should not have any trouble, but if you do please post on this thread. If you are getting an error please post a screen shot of the error.
