Hi everybody,
This is my first post here, I always found the answers I needed here before.
My problem is that I need to update a string indicator (which is in my main VI) from a sub-VI but before the end of this sub-VI. This update depends of what the user wants to do in the sub-VI, perform or not the homing of a motor.
One solution would be to ask the question before calling the sub-VI but I prefer to have everything in the same Sub-VI.
Thank you guys

You can easily create this by right clicking on the output of your Reference of the string control in the Main VI and selecting Create Control, use the created control inside the SUB vi.

Or you could drag and drop a control over the reference.

Hello,
Or you could attend a Labview Basics 2 Course. It is quite helpfull, lasts 2 whole days and spares 2 months selftraining. If you have a look at the content of the course, property nodes used for updating your front panel values is handled for instance, and a lot more of course.
Best Regards,
Laurent

Hi Laurent,
what is the content of this post?
If NI starts adding such a post for every 'semi-advanced' level at the forums, the forums will be flooded. I assume that NI can get the contact details of every member and call/mail directly with such a user.

no...noo.. NoooooOhhhh!!!!
You would not want more telemarketers calling more people for whatever reason.
There's been WAYYYYY too much abuse with phone calls.
I saw that post as being similar to us posting that they should do on-line training, etc..
