Vertical scrolling with Microsoft 6000 mouse

Solved!
Go to solution

Has anyone encountered a problem with the mouse scrolling to move the block diagram/front panel vertically.  The mouse scroll wheel works fine for all other applications but is very intermittant in LabVIEW 2009.  I am on a windows 7 OS.

I have tried a ms 5000 series and that works ok.  Any ideas?

Thanks

this may be a case of its-a-feature-not-a-bug:  in the dev environment, if you position the cursor over the horizontal scrollbar, the scroll wheel moves the window horizontally.  Anywhere else, and it scrolls vertically.

edit:  I think I misread you.  if it helps, my 7000 works fine.  Are you using intellipoint or not?

Same thing applies to the horizontal scrolling.

Further info: The mouse is a microsoft wireless mobile mouse 6000.

Hi,

There are no previously reported issues similar to what you are seeing, it may be device specific. Could you observe the effects (if any) of changing these settings in Mouse Properties:

You may have something slightly different due to the mouse driver but there will be a similar setting somewhere.

Hi Mark, i narrowed the problem down by not including any software on startup in the msconfig setup.  Then i discovered the mouse to operate as normal so by method of elimination, i narrowed it down to a unwanted pointer installation which i deselected and then ran as normal.  All is well now.

Thanks

I had the same issue and yes unchecking Microsoft IntelliMouse did solve it.

Thank You for finding this out for me!

I am having the same problem with a Microsoft Comfort Optical Mouse 3000, running on a 64bit win7 machine - the scroll wheel does not work with LabView 2010.

Can you explain to me how you solved this?  I cannot find anything in my win config file regarding mouse software being loaded.

The same for me, using a Microsoft Wireless Intellimouse Explorer 2.0 and Vista (with LV 8.6 and 2010). I want to use microsoft software features of the mouse, because clicking in the mouse wheel open the miniatures of the opened windows (like in macOsX)
