What is the difference between vi examples and .prj examples, and why won't any of my .prj's run?

Hello,

Just installed LabVIEW 7.1 and installed M6221 card. Trying to run examples. I get errors with all .prj examples (NI Service Locator not running). Why do I need NI Service Locator? BTW, I disabled Norton Firewall but did not help.

.prj files are for CVI. It sounds like for some reason you have filtering on to show both LV and CVI examples. Since you only have LV installed it seems like that should be your filter. I think there is an Advanced tab on the example finder which lets you specify this.
