agilent current source can not reach higher voltage

Solved!

hi i have an agilent B2901A current source and im trying to out put 100V... since its capable to about 200V but i can go abouve 21V. When i enter anything about 21V it only sends out 21V. Anyine know how to fix this. Is it my compliance values or range?

Thanks in advance

What current is it putting out @ 21V with your circuit?

about 21mA... its set up with a aproximate 1kohm resistor

Are you using two channels?  Looking at the data sheet for the instrument it appears you can't use more than 21V if using 2 channels.  I haven't looked at the manual for it so I could be wrong.

If you are set up as a constant current source, then you should be putting out 21V (21mA*1kOhm = 21V).  Looks like it is working exactly as it was designed.

If you truely want 100V out, then you need to change it to a constant voltage source and increase your compliance current to at least 100mA.

i believe i do have it set up as a constant voltage source and even when i do it manually and not through labview i can not seem to go above 21V even witht the complaince surrent at 100mA or higher?

If you can't do it manually, then you don't have a LabVIEW problem. You need agilent tech support.

so i got it so i can go higher manually but i cant go as high through labview as i was manually... the higherst i got manually was 42V with 100mA limit

ok nvm i figured it out thanks for all your help it turns out if i want to go above 42V i need an interlock terminal. the problem through labview was mu limit compliance was too high.
