programming a 9853 application with labview 7.1

    Hi, I'm fairly new to the compactRIO and I'm trying to program a simple CAN application that sends continuous messages from CAN0 on the 9853 to CAN1 and an external CAN device, and display the readings on a graph. Do I need an FPGA vi to access the CAN module or can I do it just using the RT target? Please help.

Yes, you need an FPGA VI to acess the CAN ports of othe 9853 module. I suggest you look to the NI 9853 examples and the module's documentation in the LV Help for more information on how to use the module.
