Vision Builder AI 2.6 algorithms

Can anyone tell me when this option will be available for the Vision Builder AI software? I have seen a little bit about its capabilities where it can find patterns even if one shape is on top of another and heard that it will be on the new release of VBAI when it comes out. Any word when that might be?

It sounds like you are talking about geometric pattern matching, which works well with overlapping objects. I think that was included in the current version of VBAI, which was released recently.

If not, can you explain what you are talking about? Advanced algorithms is a very generic term.

That is exactly what I am talking about Bruce. I thought I had heard that Geometric pattern Matching was going to be introduced into VBAI soon. Maybe I just don't have the latest version. I'll have to run a check and see if there are any updates available for us that we were not notified of!

I know the current version is 2.6, but I can't find anything that verifies that geometric pattern matching was included. I know it is in the latest version of the Vision toolkit (7.1.1), but I don't know if it is in VBAI.

Bruce, you are correct. The current version of Vision Builder AI is 2.6. It includes the following new features (from the Readme file):

- Geometric Matching step for locating templates that are characterized by distinct geometric or shape information.
- Particle Classification step for training and classifying samples in images based on their shape.
- Color Measurement step for measuring color intensities in RGB, HSL, CIE L*a*b*, and CIE XYZ color images.
- Run LabVIEW VI step for running custom VIs from within a Vision Builder AI script. Custom VIs must be written using LabVIEW 7.1.
- Modbus/TCP Support for Modbus Slave step and Modbus Slave Product Selection.
- TCP I/O Step for communicating with third-party devices over Ethernet.
- ActiveX component for the Vision Builder for Automated Inspection engine.
