IEEE 1394 Cameras not recognized at boot up

Hi,

I have a Vision System with two FireWire Cameras (AVT Marlin). Sometimes when the computer is started one of the cameras is not recognized in MAX e.g. when my application starts I get an error message stating that it cannot access the camera. I am using Labview 7.0 with Vision Development Module 7.0 and IMAQ for FireWire 1.5

Whenever this happens do you see the camera in the device manager or is it missing there also? If this is the case than you are facing a problem with the camera and you should contact the camera vendor.

Hi Jochen,

You see the camera in the device manager but it is broken (yellow sign). Replacing the camera and cables had no effect.

You can boot the machine 3 or 4 times without problems, then the same problem occurs again. When the machine is running it works without problems, only booting triggers that problem. Only one camera is affected, never both, but it is random which of them not works.

I hope this gives you a hint...

thanks

peter

Hi Peter,

You should upgrade to the latest driver as support for the AVT Marlins was not fully implemented until after version 1.5.

Hope that helps

Mike
