I see your image it is easy to find  orientation

you have three ROI that could help you 

one is hole that exist in Hinge and two others are two end of your device

use geometry matching and make two template  for multitemplate matching one for hole and next for one of the end of your device arms 

now problem is solved  you have a line from two position that your Learn and find in your image after that you can use some mathematics equation to find line orientation in any other image of your device  best one is to calculate tangent for that lines

I figured an alternative way where  you can insert a data log feature which enable you to find the match angle pattern and tells you the difference between the orientation of the image to the initial image entered. Thank you for your advice!
