The UMI-7764 is a breakout box with signal conditioning to interface a NI motion control plugin board like the PCI-7344 to a 3rd party drive. You won't need this device for your hardware setup.
Please note that you shouldn't expect higher control loop rates than 100 to 200 Hz with your hardware. This is primarily caused by the FP-2000 which is designed for rather slow I/Os which are typically used in industrial automation applications.
If you are looking for a high performance solution in an even more compact form factor please have a look at our
compact RIO products which can run control loops with up to
200 kHz. You also might be interested in the
NI SoftMotion development module for LabVIEW that provides a lot of features that you will need for your application (trajectory generation, spline engine,...).
