Hello;

The first thing you can do is to double check is you have a good installation of the latest version (6.9.3) of the NI-DAQ driver available at www.ni.com.

Once you double checked that, you will need also to look if the PCMCIA slot driver in use by your Laptop is the native Microsoft driver. Sometimes, Laptop vendors install third party socket drivers, that might or might not work properly with the NI-DAQ driver. If that is the case on your Laptop, the best bet is to uninstall that driver and install the native Microsoft driver that you can find on the Windows installation CD.

Hope this helps.

Filipe,
I have NI-DAQ 6.9.3. I am pretty sure that the PCMCIA driver is the native microsoft one (Details from Device Manager: O2Micro OZ6912 CardBus controller. Driver Provider: Microsoft. Driver Version: 5.1.2600.00) Does this sound right?

Am I correct in saying that the DAQCard needs it's own IRQ level for ISA? I don't seem to be able to assign a seperate IRQ level for the card. It is automatically assigned to the same one as the CardBus controller.
Any more ideas?
Eoin

I'm having identically the same problem under XP, 2000, and 98, with DAQCards AI-16XE-50 and 6024E on a Dell desktop (Optiflex GX260)with a Ricoh 5C476 PCMCIA to PCI adapter. I'm using the native MS pcmcia driver and NI-DAQ 6.9.3. Under XP, the DAQCard gets assigned IRQ 19, the same as the Cardbus controller, and same as with Eoin's machine, I can't change the IRQ's. Thoughts?

New Dell computers seem to have a series of new generation bus controllers, that don't accept anymore IRQ interrupts!! There is no way around that since it looks like, by now, no NI DAQ card accepts PCI interrupts...

I have the saqme problem with a DAQCard6024E. I can see it in Device&Interfaces, I can see the Properties but when I select "Test resources" I obtain "The device is not responding to the first IRQ request". Someone has found a way to solve this problem?

Thanks, Marco

Hello Eoin Bambury

This is a known issue and is fixed in versions of NI-DAQ 7.0 or later. You need to download NI-DAQ 7.0 from this location , uninstall 6.9.3 and install 7.0. This should normally clear the trouble.
