External reference clock to PCI-6259 DAQ by using BNC-2110 error

Hello,

I am trying to connect an external clock to the NI PCI-6259 DAQ through the PFI0 port of the BNC-2110 block. This configuration is done through MATLAB (analoginput and analogoutput objects). The external clock works (I think) below a threshold speed. However when the external clock for the analoginput object gets above 1.5 MHz I get the following error message and MATLAB terminates.

“The Application has requested RunTime to terminate in an unusual way.”

When the analogoutput external clock gets above the 2.5Mhz I get the same error message and MATLAB terminates.

Can someone tell me if I’m doing something wrong or are these errors due to a limitation on the PCI-6259 board.

Thank you.

Hello Areg

Thank you for using our discussion forums.

The maximum input sampling rate for the PCI-6259 is 1.25MHz.  So it looks like this error is occurring because you are requesting a sampling rate that exceeds the capabilities of the card.  For more detailed specifications on this DAQ device, please see the following link.

If you need a card that can sample at a higher rate, please check our hardware configuration page linked here, and select the needed requirements to limit the results.
