schematic global parameters

Hello everybody. I am a new user of NI MultiSim 12.

Basically I am porting some old schematics from PSPICE to MultiSim.

In one case I need to change at the same time some parameters of different components (in detail, the timing of PULSE CURRENT sources)

Instead of doing it manually for each component, in Pspice I had the handy option of specifying global parameters in a separate box. Then I could give a symbolic value to each component parameter using curly brackets.

I have read in this forum that this can be done using BASIC VIRUTAL> ARBITRARY SPICE BLOCK.

But even if I define in this arbitrary block a global parameter, it is not possible to actually use it in the component Parameter>Value. There any non numerical value is not accepted and the default value is restored, even using curly brackets.

Any alternative workaround/way to change at the same time different component's parameter values?

Thanks in advance

Hi,

One of your Multisim specialists provided me the following information:

Currently Multisim does support param but it doesn't work as well as Orcad.

In Multisim V12,  you can use parameter, have a look at the attached example. First I created a resistor model using a .subckt model, double-click on any resistor then "Edit model" button to view the model.  Next you have to place an Arbitrary SPICE block on the work area and add the param statement double-click on it to view the command. If you change the res value in the arbitrary spice block, it will pass that parameter to all the resistors on the work area.

Is this a solution for your question?
