Problem regarding communication to the Feed Locator API

Solved!
Go to solution

Hi,

I am having problems connecting to the Package Manager, when I try to open the "Browse Products" site I get the attached screen.

Somehow there isn't any communication to the Feed Locator API but I don't know how to get that working?

I have tried uninstalling NI Package Manager and all the NI Software and reinstalled it, but it just keeps saying the same problem.

I hope someone can help me with a solution as I need it working ASAP 🙂

Are you behind a restrictive corporate firewall?

Are you using any extra security software?

Is the package manager allowed to access the internet?

Hi, thanks for the suggestions

No i am not behind a restrictive corporate firewall så I don't think that is the case.

I have now tried uninstalling my Extra Security Software however i still doesn't work.

As far as i can see, the Package Manager is allowed to access the internet through the firewall? 😕

As an other information I can mention that my Package Manager has worked perfectly before, but now all of a sudden doesn't anymore

Hi, thanks for the suggestions

I have tried uinstalling my extra security software, however this didn't help.

Furthermore have I tried to see if the NIPM has access to the internet and as far as I can see, it has acces.

No I am not under any strict corporate firewall.

As a bonus info I can tell that the Package Manager has worked fine before.

It's possible that there was an outage or maintenance during that time - please try it again today.

Worst case, you can download the offline version of the installer from ni.com/downloads, which doesn't require internet connectivity.

I have tried over the last couple of days and it is still not working, however for my supervisor and fellow students it works for them.

Thanks for the reply 😄

andr8830,

1) Can you see if you can access this URL in a browser which is how NIPM obtains the connection point to our store:

2) If successful, the returned json text would have the following embedded URLs which you can also try in a browser. Please confirm that you get the following failures and if not, what do you get?

a) Failure: A valid API key is required to perform this operation

Hi Scott_Richardson,
Thanks for the reply

When I try accessing the 1) link I get the following message:

andr8830_1-1668585676940.png

Hereafter I tried accessing all the three the links in 2 a) which all gives me the message " "code": 403, "message": "A valid API key is required to perform this operation " and when I try 2 b) I get the message "Acces Denied, error code 1020".

Do you know how I should interpret this?

Andr8830, those results are what I would expect so there does not seem to be a simple block to what NIPM is trying to access. Will need to get back to you on possible more debugging.
