Hi,
This is my first adventure into TestStand Deployment.
We have a number of production PC’s with TestStand 2.0 and LabView 7.1.
Now we have TestStand 2012 and LabWindows/CVI 2012 replacing the old but still needing to slotting into the same space as there is a lot more, non NI, code been called by TestStand which is not been updated yet.
I know the first build and install of the new deployment will be incorrect, learning curve, but can I roll back any deployment so I am back to where I started old Test Stand and LabView?
Thanks for your time
Simon

TestStand will not overwrite a previous version. You will have both versions once you install the new. However, you have to use the version selector to go back and forth.
LabVIEW is the same way except no version selector. You can have multiple run time engines on the same bench. I'm assuming CVI is the same as well. It just matters what you adapter is set to in TestStand. That is the version of LV/CVI you would use for that TS execution.
The one that is tricky is the NI Drivers. Those buggers update to the latest and overwrite the older versions. However, NI has tried to do a good job of making them backwards compatible.
You can always clean the machine and install the old stuff if all else fails. You may want to test it out on a clean machine anyway.
Hope this helps some,

jigg,
Thanks for that.
This is not the way in which I would like to have the production PC left, would much prefer to have only one version one point of entry and NO Labview at all.
Would this require a TOTAL removal of ALL NI software and then the running of the new deployment exe?
Thanks for all the help

Yes. You would want to clean off the PC then just run your deployment. As long as your deployment includes the TS Engine, UI and LV Run time engines.
