These forum members have mentioned that they are experiencing this behavior even after following the instructions on Microsoft's KB.

That is fine with me - I also submitted by email request #7180492 as Derrick has said to do in an earlier post...

Thanks Anand.
I dont think this is a real problem for as our testand will not install the offending software but I need to fix it on my development computer.
We are not running Teststand at this time as I am just running the demo (I have it on order) .

WinXP pro, Office 2007, LabVIEW 8.6.1, Teststand 4.1.1, Skchui.dll version 1.0.1038 (!#$%!)
Okay, well the last post prior to mine was a year and a half ago. I'm running WinXP pro with Office 2007 (the one with the Vista "look and feel". Blech!) I tried the fix described in Microsoft article id 896429, but I don't have the same prompts. I go to Control Panel -> Add or Remove Programs. I see "2007 Microsoft Office System". Click on "Change", select "Add or Remove Features", then click on "Continue". There is no "advanced customization of applications", nor can I find anything named "Alternative User Input" anywhere in the menu tree. According to others here, if I just delete or rename Skchui.dll, it's likely to "fix" itself and return under the same name.
Anyone had to deal with this? How'd you fix it?

Mark,
I can understand your frustration. In the searching that I have done, I found that Office 2007 does not include handwriting support.
In the Microsoft knowledge base, it lists the products that the problem and workaround apply to. You can find the list below (I just copied it). Some of these are not part of office core, and so will be listed as their own separate products in Add/Remove Programs. Can you check if you have one of these software packages installed? If so, you should be able to run the instructions listed in the knowledge base on that product and fix the issue.
