error 1003

I have added a menu option under Tools to allow the Sequence Editor to configure a step vi through the use of a shell.  This was a technique under the old Test Executive product to load the input buffer with a variable to be used by the vi when that step was executed.  I have carried that approach forward over the years and have implemented this menu option just as NI suggests to be able to use legacy code developed previously.  It has worked just fine in the past, but somehow I am having a problem with it now.  When I go to the menu option to configure my step, I get a run-time error of 1003.  I have been unable to find what that code is in any documentation.  What is a error 1003 in this context?

Hey ArtTCG,

I actually had a few questions.  Which version of TestStand and which version LabVIEW are you currently using?  As for the menu options, any of the options under the tools menu should actually be pointing to a sequence or command so you should be able to troubleshoot that sequence just like any other sequence.  The error 1003 usually refers to a broken top level VI.  If you have any VIs associated with that sequence you might want to check those VIs.

Hi Pat,

    I am using LabVIEW 6.1 and TestStand 2.1.  I do have a little evidence that there is a broken top level vi, now that you mention it.  It is probably due to a path problem.  The strange thing is, the evidence doesn't always manifest itself.  Very strange but I will look into it further.  Thanks.
