The TestStand Help file explains what those symbols mean. The $ in particular tells TestStand to remove trailing zeros after the decimal point if they exist. The integer value specifies the number of digits to allow past the decimal point. As you noticed you must place the call within the sequence callback where the ReportOptions were accessible so that you could properly set this value, and then it worked.
