Hi Bill,

The max amount of read write cycles is dependent on the drives that you are using and the way that you are using the drives. In general the number of read operations is considered unlimited, and is not the limiting factor in applications whereas, the write operations are limited to approximately 5 000 for MLC drives and approximately 100 000 for SLC drives. This write longevity is a rough estimate and is one that ranges depending upon the manufacturer and type of SSD you're using. Also the MTBF(mean time between failures) is listed by the manufacturer at approximately 2,000,000 hours. Again, please keep in mind that these numbers are approximate and rely heavily on the type of drive you're using and how you are using it.

The drive I am asking about is the only solid state hard drive that NI offers. During our testing procedure we stream test data to the drive that is why I am wondering about the write cycles for that drive.

The drives we currently sell are SLC, so approximately 100 000 write operations.
