cRIO and QSI touchscreens

I am trying to connect a cRIO 9002 directly to a QSI touchscreen via ethernet crossover cable.  I can communicate with the touchscreen through a LabVIEW program on a separate host machine, and I can also communicate with the RT system in a similar manner.  I have no luck with the direct connection, though.  I suspect it is a port issue, but I am not sure I am interpreting the "Which ports are used by LabVIEW RT?" document correctly.  Pressing any button on the touchscreen causes the orange ethernet port light on the cRIO 9002 to blink 6 times and then stop (some sort of timeout?)  Any ideas on what's wrong?

Thanks in advance,

Hello,

I'm curious to know what operating system the QSI panel is running, and how you're communicating between the two.  Normally when creating HMI's for a cRIO system, we would use the LabVIEW Touch Panel Module to create an application that runs on a Windows CE device that can communicate with the cRIO over shared variables.  Regardless of the hardware being used, an application on the touchscreen computer would need to be created.  If you're having trouble developing the HMI application with QSI's Qlarity environment, they may be able to offer more detailed help than I can on that side.  It is possible to create an application on the cRIO RT controller that listens for commands coming in over a TCP/IP connection to your touchscreen.

I'd like to know also how you set up the communication bewteen LabVIEW for Windows and the touch screen - knowing what we're working with will make it much easier to discover where the problem may lie.

Matt,

Thank you for your response, but I have solved the problem.  It was due to my misunderstanding on the way the cRIO actually runs code (I guess it was just sitting there waiting for me to tell it to "go").  Everything is working well now.

Thanks again for your time,
