How to get a Legacy DAQ to be reqognized in the labview DAQ assistant

Hi I have a DAQPad-6020 and a 16 input SCB-68. My problem is that the DAQPad is recognized in the Measurement and Automation assistant, but when I try to access it through the DAQ Assistant I do not have any DAQs to choose from. In other words the DAQPad is not recognized by Labview. I think it might have to do with the fact that the DAQ is recognized as a legacy DAQ. Any Help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Al,

Ufortunately the DAQ assistant is built on top of DAQmx, so if your card does not supports DAQmx you won't be able to use the DAQ assistant. Some good references about the DAQ assistant are: Getting Started with NI-DAQmx: Using the DAQ Assistant.

You will need to use a traditional daq shipping examples, if you want to ease your way into t-daq. They can be located at: Where Are the LabVIEW Traditional NI-DAQ Examples?.

If possible take a look at the possibility of changing to a DAQmx supported device. Resources and example are going to be easier to find.

If you can't and you are stuck with the DAQpad let me know and I'll try to help you find another workaorund. Of course I will need to know what are you trying to do.
