For a VIEW Contour, CCN results in the Y-channel instead of the Z-channel, which is less convenient if trying to link to group properties where the Z channel is in a different source group from the Y channel.

Visible when adding freetext:

@@chnname(CCN)@@

Would it be possible to have the Z-Channel as the CCN channel value (hoping this is just a leftover from VIEW's standard 2D functionality, rather than a 'feature')?

Hello!

One of our users recently reported being unable to change individual VIEW 3D Contour legend item widths.  When attempting to drag the individual legend item borders in a contour, they immediately snap back to the original size.

Attempting to script this also fails to work (doesn't error, just doesn't change the size):

VIEW.ActiveSheet.ActiveArea.DisplayObj.LegendItems(1).Width = 100

2D Graphs already have this functionality, so it's more a consistency item...This is not a high priority, but a feature that would be desirable in future versions of DIAdem.

I am trying to push DIAdem as an analysis tool.  Some of the Engineers use VBOX for DAQ.  I downloaded the plug-in to mess with their data.

I was really looking forward to using the GPS to make a map and plot speed, accell etc...  I could only load street maps.

Satellite maps would be very usefull.  There are no roads where we we are taking GPS data.

Has anyone been able to load custom maps or satellite maps?  DIAdem needs more map options in the drop down.

Hi,

it would be helpful to have the following option in the View:

In case of moving the cursor through the 2D-Graph, I would like to have the table scrolling automatically the same way with highlightning the values of the cursors position.

Kind regards

Bernhard

There is no way to initialize two "cursors" or objects in the DIAdem VIEW Map Display Type. It would be helpful to be able to track to or more objects moving on the map simultaneously.

Sometimes I want to measure differences between points of different curves which I show in a View 2D diagram. For this it would be excellent to be able to hook the cursors to 2 curves instead of always the same curve.

Example: a fit line and the data set. Try to find out, how far the data oint is off the fit line.

Just as a suggestion.

Michael

Hello ALL,

there is only one manual scale to be set in a 2D graph in VIEW Panel. It would be a great idea if setting manual scales would allow you to set seperate scales for seperate plots on one graph.

Thanks, Piotr

Add a function to setup live measurements of curve data between cursors.  As the cursors move the function uses the new curve data between the cursors to immediately update the measurement field(s).  This functions comes standard on most advanced digital oscilloscopes.  The oscopes' usually have a measurement screen where measurement parameters are entered for the specific measurement desired.  My immediate desire was just to measure RMS between verticle cursors but by no means should this function be limited to one measurement type.

Would like the option to display bus data (string value). This is useful for displaying communication bus data such as serial UART, SPI, I2C, etc. Instead of a plotting a single line, plot two lines with the string data value (hex, decimal, ASCII) in between. Example below is serial UART data, the digital serial bit pattern and the decoded byte value in hex. The second screenshot is from another program, but it would be nice if DIAdem had this capability too!

The default type for a 2D Axis view display is line, but for all our signals we need stair curve. So I have to manually go to display settings and set the type to stair curve for every channel. If there are many channels that is very tedious. It would be nice to have a global setting that can be set for all view displays.

Consider the ability to add a non-orthogonal secondary axis to an axis system in VIEW and REPORT and a non-orthogonal axis system with arbitrary angle.  Many complex plots have typical 2D axes and additional axes overlayed at some angle.  This would allow creating complex plots (ternary plots, psychrometric charts etc.)

This ability to add graphic images to the background of a 2D axis system was just added to Report in DIAdem 2012.  Would like to be able to do the same in VIEW.

At the moment if you want to give an area a title you have to create another area text to it and set the type to text box.

I believe an improvement would be to set the title for the area itself.  It would look neater and would take up less space.  Something like the new subdiagram label in LabVIEW 2012 perhaps.

I find 4D plots very useful in LabVIEW, for example for displaying how sound pressure varies across a 3D surface.

It would be very helpful if DIAdem could do the same.

I'm new to Diadem so this may be an option that I've not discovered yet...

I have very large data files which take a couple of seconds to display on a chart.  Annoyingly if I want to add an extra plot to an existing graph Diadem re-draws all the graphs, not just the new data.  I have my own LabVIEW code which only plots new data whilst leaving old plots on the graph and it really speeds up the process - can you do something similar with Diadem?

In many cases a scatter plot is necessary to evaluate measured data. A direct option to select a scatter plot chart in the 2D-axes Dialogbox

would improve the usability of Diadem VIEW a lot.

When selecting a matrix structure set of channels for the z-matrix, DIAdem currently allows a user to select the first channel when the triplet channel radio button is chosen, and then locks that first entry as the first Z channel in the z-matrix.  When the user wants to select the last channel in the z-matrix, they then have to click the "..." box to the right of the greyed out box that has the first Z channel in the z-matrix displayed.  I was going to suggest that R&D work on the ability to chose channels that are not consecutively arranged within the data portal.  I feel it would be more intuitive to hold down CTRL and select the Z channels that make up the z-matrix.

Cheers!

It's very common you need to do a presentation with several information and if you can put a video playing a synchronized video, map, audio and data graphs, like DIAdem VIEW do, your presentation will be cause a excellent impression. To do this today you need a capture screen toll, If DIAdem have a native tool to do this it would be great.

When you have made a measurement with GPS positions included in your data, it should be possible to report or view a measured parameter on these GPS positions. It should be possible to give different colours to the parameter values. E.g. I have made some vibration measurements on a tram with GPS positions. When it is possible to give low vibrations levels a green colour and high levels a red colour you can easy spot bad sections of track. It is combining two functios DIAdem already has: GPS maps and 3D characteristic diagram.

It is very easy to delay the start of a video in order to offset the beginning of a video to a data set.  However it is more difficult to offset data in order to synchronise with another section of a video.

For instance - you may have a 12 second video with 6 seconds worth of data.  If this data relates to 6-12 s of the video, you need to change the x-axis of the 2D-axis area to mirror 6-12 s.

I would propose a "Video Offset" property.  This suggestion is similar to Time Shift Data Feature.
