E-List

E-LIST issue n°43

No special event this week, except may be the fact that JLV just passed JPD. A fratricidal fight. That was due to happen since JPD, although still alive, has stopped all contributions for over a week.

No stars, stepping down in the E-List... Quelle déchéance Jean-Pierre !

Next week will be different, since, according to my cristal ball, Dennis Knudson will establish another record, when crossing the 6000 reply limit. Again... Seems that 5000 were a few days ago only. Will be difficult to find an original congratulation.

116 active members last week. Stable...

Sort the evolution column and you will see that the climbers in the E-List belong to the blue team. How should we interpret this movement ?

Woo-hoo!! 😄
Grabbing JP's stars... oh yeah!!

I noticed that it is a big stretch to (try to) catch up to Jeremy or Al, maybe in the next year..  And maybe I'll reach that infamous "actual" first "K".  😐

Thanks CC for the update.

There are a number of things to concider. The coming of Fall to the northern hemisphere, is an easy condiction to notice. We do not yet have a full year undr our belt with the new Exchange and sesonal cyles.

I would also suspect LV8 coming out plays a factor. I have noticed too many blue bars trying to answer questions with "In LV* you can.." I do not know why these type of posts bug so much. Probably becuase I want my support resource to be supporting and selling.

Another possiblility is that I have not been passing out as many stars as I used to. Positve feedback is critical with enforcing a desirable behaviour.

Another factor is tst has fallen off from HIS extreme contribution rate. Can just one of make such a big difference?

Another factor is the lack of JR who did a lot of work behind the scenes to keep people interested.

Following the completion of the Prime Factor Challenge, I was thinking about investigating and posting new LV8 functionality (if my wife and boss permit).

I think it is time for NI to start giving out prizes for Exchange contributions.

Plaques would be a good start.

SO what do you y'all think?

Ben

News of the week

One thousand more contributions for DK. That was announced last week. He did it ! You can congratulate him here.

140 active members this week ! I thought you were all going asleep ! Are you trying to make a fool of me ? Hummm...
A comparison of last mont activity, with the year activity, shows that among the top 50 active contributors, 31 have decrease their average contribution rate. Not sure that this is really significant. However, I'm more concerned with the fact that, apart Ben's contribution to the Monthly bug thread, there has been no post in the BreakPoint board for the last 10 days. This never happened before !

Even Altenbach is slowing down, but I suppose that this is to prepare his answer to Bruce prime factor challenge 😉

OK, enough with pessimistic thoughts. The good news this week is that TBob is going to overtake Ray Farmer, increasing the density of French speakers in the upper spheres. It's really unfortunate that JPD has apparently decided to boycott the Exchange, otherwise we might have imposed French as official communication language. Vous avez vraiment beaucoup de chance !

Special encouragements to Becktho, Dynamik, Ryan V and Otis who were unusually active last week.

Wrong guess! While I think it is a fantastic challenge, I'll probably have to pass because I have just too many things going on at the moment.

Looking into my crystal ball, I predict that my contrubutions will temporarily drop to near zero until mid December because I will be traveling. 😄

You better tell me, cause this will avoid another post similar to Feeling depressed... but for opposite reasons !..

News of the weekS
After a number of technical problems with my home DSL connection, here are the last week(s) results.

For the fourth consecutive week, the number of active members has been increasing (113, 140, 167 and 172). Great ! We will never know if this regain of activity is a result of my complains, or a side effect of top Enthusiast's activity decrease, leaving more room to others.

Last week, even Dennis took some rest, being second for the first time since tst "retired". In a last effort before holidays, Christian ranked first. Not sure but I believe this is a première !

Dynamik, Becktho, Ed Dickens, and a few others confirm their rise in the E-List, and occupy now steady places in the top 10.
We still have lost JPD, in spite of a shy reply last week.

I should release a new version of the Enthusiasm Index next week. The novelty is that the overall number of replies will NOT be taken into account. Means that newcomers will have the possibility to rise rapidly to the top. Assuming they are true Enthusiasts of course !

So, stay tuned !
