Yes. I have done this many times for documentation purpose. First open the picture you want to paste in  paint (or some other picture tools). Copy the picture/picture partyou want to paste in. In  the  block diagram menu, go to edit and select paste. Then you are done. Work also if you use the "print screen" button (in windows), and then select paste

Edit: while I was typing Cory came up with the solution. :smileyvery-happy

Besides which, my opinion is that Express VIs Carthage must be destroyed deleted
(Sorry no Labview "brag list" so far)

If you just want the image, I wouldnt recommend print screen.
That would paste a picture of your whole current screen, toolbars and everything.
I'd stick to copy/paste

Corey- so you just right clicked on a file in windows and selected copy, then went to your block diagram and pasted? did you use crtl+V to paste or the drop down edit menu? I couldn't get it to work that way.

I'm using Windows Vista. That may be the difference.
Are you using XP?

Yes, this is literally what I did.

I opened up the folder that had pictures.

The files' icons are being displayed as "large icons".

I right click on an image >> copy.
Then went to the block diagram and 'ctr + v'

yup, that's the difference. I'm in XP. It's unfortunate, because I would prefer to be able to create a picture constant. I can label a picture constant, but not a picture decoration. oh well.

thanks again.

You can label whatever you want on the block diagram.

Just double click on some empty space on the block diagram and a free-label will pop up.
Then type whatever you want to label the image, and drag the label where you want it.

If you use the diagram cleanup tool in version 8.6, you learn quickly that free labels are like confetti on a windy day. Smiley Tongue

In don't see any difficult step when adding a picture to the BD : even opening the file is not required !.. the most straightforward method is to drag the picture from the file list in Windows directly onto the diagram. This works with jpg, gif, bmp and png pictures, not with tif images.

Root Canal and Cory,

if you use the diagram cleanup tool, you'll also learn quickly that pictures and decorations are also confetti :D. And since the group command doesn't work... 😞

Here is a small challenge for you : there is something wrong in the BD image below (it's a LabVIEW bug, not yet reported). Could you spot the problem ? 😉
