For both picture use i same settings in geometric matching. Results are but different.

What is the rotation setting that you have kept it in pattern matching. I will post you the vi that works.

- With pattern matching get i even worse results. You see it "pattern_matching_results.png"
- Template file is bit because after i with geometric matching psition and rotation angle find, use i same templae for golden template. My templates have:
(1) Patttern matching (in case of i need)
(2) Geometric matchin (edege based & feature based)
(3) Golden template (for finding defects)

i forgat the screenshot.

Thank you. But that doesn't explain why is geometric matching instabil or gives false results.

The template that i am attaching works for both the images but i am still not sure why the template that you chose didnt get detected. Looks like a bug to me.

In the screen shot you are checking only for +/_90 deg and not 180

Muks: when i use your templae get i these results: "results_for_muks_template.png",
But when i an another template (just for pattern matching "template_desa.png") get again different results for same settings ("results_for_template_desa.png"). And i can't find all of the patterns.
And again, all of them doesn't explain, why i get different results from geometric matching for same images.

I agree. I thing there's is a bug (ore in pattern matching/Geometric matching). I can give you a lot of examples. Often get different results for same images.

As i mentioned earlier you are still checking only for +/- 90 degrees. Change it to 180
