Did you mean:

Tektronix TDS2014B. The scope free runs just fine under it's own control but under SignalExpress control it repeatedly triggers creating a recording that is discontinuous bursts of data.

Hello,

The main difference I see is the older IVI Compliance Package. Can you please upgrade to 4.5. http://joule.ni.com/nidu/cds/view/p/id/3065/lang/en

Thank you for all the screenshots. They will come in handy if this package upgrade does not help.

Were the screenshots you attached of a virtual device?

Did you follow the following steps when creating the virtual device?

The screen shots with IVI in the filemane are using the VI. The filenames with live data are from the actual scope.

I will recreate the IVI following the linked instructions. I used those instructions on the 64 bit machine several weeks ago, however, I did not when creating on the 32 bit unit.

Also, I should have a Tek TDS2014C scope to try Tuesday afternoon.

If the problem is occurring with a simulated instrument, I think we can rule out the scope. Knowing that it did the same thing on a 32 bit machine will be helpful. Testing a different scope will also definitely narrow down the issue.

Just received a loaner TDS2014C and as you would expect, it exhibits the same behavior as the TDS2014B. I have been searching a bit and found some info on non-buffered streaming. I have downloaded and extracted the files from win32fileiovis.zip but now I need to know where to place them and how to access them. That is, if you think that this could help.

On another topic, is there a means of paying directly for telephone support? I am down to the wire (pun intended) on this project and I am suffering.

Hello, thank you for trying that. I'm sorry that this is taking so long. This is such a unique scenario that we are currently getting a laptop with WinXP sp3 set up so that we can replicate it. I have already informed R&D about the issue and they will be assisting me in determining what the problem could be.

You said that this was a trial version of Windows XP sp3? Is there any other unique software installed on that machine?

Pending those results, we can give you a call if we are still not able to replicate the issue.

Correction, Windows XP is not in trial mode. It it the NI LabVIEW SignalExpress Tektronix Edition that is running in trial mode. The trial period ends 12/13/12, so we should be good for now.

So both the simulated IVI Scope and the physical scope managed to work on a Windows XP Professional SP3, intel pentium M processor 1400MHz, 1.40Ghz, 1.5Gb RAM with Signal Express Tektronics edition trial version 2.5.1.

If you Add a Step that Creates an Analog signal, does it work when you view the added signal in DataView?

We may need you to create a technical support report from Measurement & Automation Explorer. This article shows how you can do it.

I get the same results of discontinuous bursts of trace. I have tried several different settings, again to no avail. Please see the attached project and trace files. Also attached is the MAX generated report. I ran it as custom but if this does not cover the info you need, please indicate which files I should include when using the Technical Support report.
