NI-488.2 installation issue for windows 7

Facing some installation issues that require your support.

Tried to install NI-488.2 to windows 7 and there is an window

pop up. See attachment.

Can advice is there a window patch to resolve this issue?

Was the version you installed compatible with Win 7? What version was it?

Hi AK2DM,

Thanks for the reply. I tried using version 2.5. I believe this version is not for windows 7.

Also downloaded the ver 3.1. But still cannot get the installation done. New error msg.

Please refer to below.

Is it due to hardware issue? My hardware version is from YR2006

Managed to solve the issue.

I uninstall all NI programs (Need to ensure all traces of NI programs is removed).

Below website can help to guide in removing all NI programs.

Then I proceed to install the latest NI-488.2 ver 3.1, followed by the hardware installation (GPIB card).

Lastly the Labview 7.1.

Testing now to see if my old labview software and hardware can work smoothly in windows 7....

I am assuming that everything worked fine and you were so excited that you never came back to the support blog to let everyone know that after testing everything worked perfectly. So just asking before I un-install all NI products-did this work? I have LabVIEW 8.2 and am getting the exact same messages. Anyone out there know?

I don't see 5.0.3 as available for download. Where did you get that? Have you tried a more current version?

If you are using the new USB-GPIB HS like I was I had to uninstall the NI 488 driver then reinstall using the NI 488 driver that came on the disk with the hardware. This worked for me.

Are you using LabVIEW with this? Because if you are you may have to uninstall LabVIEW and all components then install the NI 488 driver and then reinstall it and not let it install the latest NI 488 driver.
